Hawthorn Lodge Restaurant is closed for the period 9 July – 30 September 2017. We are very pleased to take bookings by email during this period. email@example.com
We are experiencing very heavy bookings for the Christmas High Tea in December so please do email us if you want to book at that time.
Hawthorn Lodge Restaurant
The Lazy Tea rooms at Hawthorn Lodge are open from 11 am for lunch and our popular Devonshire Cream and High Teas from Friday until Monday. We are closed on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but able to take group bookings on those days. From Boxing Day until the end of March we are open every day.
Our high tea is very popular. We serve a country style High Tea using home grown or local ingredients. We offer country style friendly service in a beautiful location all at great country value at just $20. High tea is served on the veranda overlooking the garden or by the fire in our cosy tea room. It is essential to book as we are often fully booked for high tea.
Devonshire Cream Tea
Marie offers at the Lazy Tea rooms the best cream tea is Tasmania. Made with award winning scones in the farm kitchen, served with our own raspberry jam and Tasmanian clotted cream. All served on fine china with real tea in a tea pot. Teas are served on the veranda or in the cosy tea rooms. You are most welcome to walk around the gardens with some fine trees including the oldest Magnolia in Australia.
We offer a light lunch menu with each dish costing $8. These can of course be combined to create a more substantial lunch. The menu includes a soup of the day, a dish of the day, homemade sausage rolls, toasties and a cheese board. We make full use of our own produce that we grow and buy from local suppliers.
Dinner is only available at the Hawthorn Lodge restaurant to residents and makes full use of local produce, much of which we produce ourselves. Dinner is served at 6.30pm. We currently offer light meals only at dinner time with each costing $10.
