The Hawthorn Lodge restaurant is open for lunch and tea from Friday until Monday and every day in January, February and March.
In the evening the Hawthorn Lodge Restaurant provides light dinners for residents. This is open most days but to be sure please do request that you would like dinner when you book or email us before you arrive.
Our dinner system is informal. We offer a range of dishes each priced at at $10. This is designed to allow for sharing and flexibility.
The menu is simple but does change and generally includes a homemade soup with homemade bread, a dish of the day, homemade sausage rolls, wedges, toasties and a cheese board. Common to all is a focus on using our own produce and preserves much of which we grow ourselves.
We do please ask that you confirm you will be dining with us by 5.30pm. A menu will be displayed in the Buttery. Please write your order in the book.
Dishes will be served in the Buttery at 6.30 and you are most free to eat in the Buttery or on the Veranda.
We have a selection of very good wines and offer these at great value for $6/glass or $20/bottle. This includes some Tasmanian wines. We also stock cascade beer, mercury cider and spirits. Alcohol can only be served to residents and for non residents we allow BYO.
We also offer the local excellent award winning Meadowbank Wines which cost a little more but amazing and well worth trying.
